Let's get tall

I'm taking a seminar on human rights law this summer, and as a result I'm trolling the depths of the international news flow far more than usual. Today I turned up this little gem. Yeah, it's a couple weeks old . . . but had you heard of it?

Vietnam plans to make people taller

The Vietnamese Government has launched a new initiative to make its population taller.

The $40m programme, which is designed to promote better nutrition and healthy living, will be introduced to schools across the country.

"We are still much shorter than other Asian countries like China and especially Japan," said Dung Nghiep Chi, the man behind the scheme.

. . .

"I want to be 10cm taller," [said one man.] "I think tall people are beautiful."

Could a Vietnamese center be in the Blazers' future, slamming Yao Ming to the floor with regularity? Here's hoping!

Apparently I've been Volokh'd

See here.

So that's probably good for 30 seconds of fame. Well, as Peggy Hill said once, "Finally I am getting the recognition I've always given myself."

UPDATE 6/03
My Cryptograms are drawn into the center of a heady constitutional theory debate here. This all has me thinking maybe I should draw up some diagrams for my current course, administrative law, but that thought only leads to headaches and whiskey.
